First commission acquits Vinicius Júnior

Vinicius Júnior, expelled in the classic with Botafogo, on March 3, for the third round of the Taça Rio, was judged on Monday (19) by the First Disciplinary Commission and ended up acquitted. The player received a direct red card after slide-tackle Igor Rabello. This way, Vinicius Júnior is released for the Rio Cup semifinal. Upon leaving the field of play, the athlete would have suffered verbal offenses, which led to the opening of an investigation to ascertain the facts. The red and black were denounced based on article 254 of the CBJD, which talks about “practicing violent play”. According to the scoresheet, Vinícius Júnior, in a dispute for the ball, gave a frontal cart with the use of excessive force reaching the opponent’s legs. The fact occurred in the central circle of the field and the athlete reached did not need medical attention. The rapporteur, Dr. Renata Deschamps, accepted the defense’s request to disqualify for article 250, for “practicing an unfair or hostile act”, and applied a suspension match. However, by majority vote, Vinicius Júnior was acquitted.
